Japan’s Strict Building Codes Saved Lives

套new york times的標題 "Japan’s Strict Building Codes Saved Lives" 真的是一點都不錯!!

flight is no longer affordable!!

cheap flight tickets have always been the essential consideration for most travelers (esspecially, backpackers) while they're deciding which airline they shall fly with. But now, traveling around the world by flight will soon become unaffordable for some people (or most people?!)

As the oil price rapidly rising, most of the airline have risen their ticket fare up to 20 to 40%. Some airline who are famous for their incredible cheap ticket have stared to cut down their cheapest seats or even stop selling them (AirAsia will suspend the Taipei--Bangkok flight by 27th this month, might be due to this reason as well?? ). Thanks to the increasing price and those travelers who didn't have much choice but spend more on the flight, the financial statement of most airline were quite positive compared with most companies' financial chart in 2010.

Under the unstable situation in middle east and north aferica, the rising oil price shall be inevitable, soon or later, traveling by flight shall be classifed in "LUXURY" category.

NO WONDER!! You are not worried NOW, Uncle Sam!!

「Europe appears most immediately vulnerable to the strife in Libya, which produces almost 2 percent of the world’s oil. More than 85 percent of its exports go to Europe; more than a third goes to Italy alone. Libya sends only a small fraction of its oil to the United States, but because oil is a world , Americans are not immune to the price shock waves.」

Just for now...as the price continuing rising....I don't believe those optimistic analyst will still be "optimistic"

the domino effect from Egypt, Libya, and Tunisia

The world is flat,一國、一區的暴動、天災、糧食欠收最終都會影響到全球的經濟。 Read more: 當世界是平的~~~ and 當世界是平的PART II----稀土之戰,second round

「Over the past few weeks, we had a domino effect, and the concern is that anything can happen,” said Justin Urquhart Stewart, co-founder of Seven Investment Management in London. “At the moment the ripple is very small, but it has the potential to turn into something bigger quickly」(在過去幾個星期,我們已經見識到了一連串的骨牌效應了, 現在這個漣漪還很小,不過他極可能迅速的成為大海浪)

Mr. Urquhart Stewart隨後補上一句:「The U.S. is not immune from this,If you see a significant rise in the oil price for a long period, that could easily choke off any U.S. recovery that is still weak(美國不可能永遠遠離這一切。
